Ariana Grande's New Makeup Brand - r.e.m. beauty

The beauty world is expanding as we speak, and I couldn't be more excited! In recent years, it seems there has been a wave of female artists coming to the beauty scene with their makeup brands including Rhianna with Fenty Beauty, Selena Gomez with Rare Beauty, Halsey with About Face, and now Ariana Grande as the newest to debut r.e.m. beauty, and let me tell you, I AM HERE FOR IT!

As a big Ari fan, I have been waiting for her to launch a makeup brand, probably way before she even had the idea to do it herself. With her ICONIC cat-eye look and many other show-stopping performance looks, it's safe to say many others were probably anticipating the same.


Ariana's vision for her beauty line is as quotes:
"It means so much to me to be able to create a product line for absolutely everybody and anybody who wants to wear it and feel incredible. Makeup is so personal, and to have the opportunity to help people feel even more beautiful than they already are in their skin, and also to provide tools that support and encourage people in their creativity and self-expression is a gift that I'll never take for granted."

What I love the most about r.e.m. beauty is its overall new age space theme. It's absolutely like no other on the market and brings a fresh breath of life to the beauty industry. It's clean, cutting edge, and super futuristic, making you feel like the lunar age has just begun! I also appreciate Grande's mission to create a more inclusive space in the beauty world for all ages, backgrounds, genders, and walks of life. It seems to be aligning perfectly with where beauty is headed!

Currently, r.e.m. debuted the first chapter of their beauty launch, 01 Ultraviolet. The site's chapter description states, "travel through space and time to a world of cosmic illusions and futuristic lust. from expressive eyes and flutter-worthy lashes to extragalactic highlights and lips that make a statement, this is everything dreams are made of."

There are currently 13 different products varying from eye products, lip products, and face products, and quite a few that I am super stoked to try out! It's amazing to know there is more to come. Additionally, the products listed on the r.e.m's site are priced between $16 - $32, so there is something for everyone!

The first product that I have my eye on is the Matte Liquid Eyeshadow! This product is for those who struggle to apply and blend normal powdered eyeshadow, like myself. Just apply to your eyelids, blend away, and boom! Your eyeshadow look is complete! Of course, it can also act as a great base/primer to apply additional powder or shimmer eyeshadow, but I love the matte look Ari has been rocking. Currently, it's offered in 10 different shades, which is fantastic!

The following product I am eager to try is the lip stain marker. This lip product provides a long-wearing experience with a natural finish. It's currently offered in 4 different shades and can be paired with other lip products in the r.e.m. collection. You can add a gloss over this application to create a more dimensional look or leave it as is.

The final product I am looking forward to trying is the on your collar matte lipstick! First, I am OBSESSED with the packaging! I have never seen such a cool looking lipstick before! And the fact that Ariana poses with a space-gun that replicates this product is just SO COOL! It's giving me all the space ray gun vibes! This lipstick comes in 6 different shades and after watching a few beauty tutorials reviewing this r.e.m. lipstick, I knew I needed to try it out! This product glides on lips like a dream and delivers instant, rich, long lasting color that stays comfortably in place without drying out your pout. GIVE IT TO MEEEE.

Not let's dive into r.e.m.'s social media presence (specifically Instagram & Twitter). Right now, r.e.m. has a total of 1.1 million followers, which comes to no surprise, as Ariana Grande is one of the most-followed people on Instagram, coming in at a whopping 280 million followers.

When I first followed r.e.m. beauty about three months ago, I remember the teaser posts and buzz they were generating before the brand launched, which had me freaking out at every post. Some posts included behind-the-scenes screenshots of text messages from Ariana herself talking about the launch, sketches of the beauty products, and of course, STUNNING images of Grande rocking some makeup looks. There was also plenty of video teasers that incorporated music from the famous pop star with a dream like / space twist.

What I also really loved about the content was how clean-cut and futuristic it looked. A nice variety of Reels and static imagery left you wanting more and there was a TON of effort put into branding that made it unique. The page has overall taken on a very minimalistic approach with many metallics, purples, and silvers and a good amount of white space. Each post is optimized perfectly with product tags, stories, and links for all you explorative desires. Additionally, the product photography is out of this world....literally! Check it out below!

For r.e.m.'s Twitter account, it seems they are using this platform to share user generated content (UGC) from fans and customers who are tagging them in posts. These include pictures of the products and of people creating makeup looks. I can't wait to see how the brand reacts to any trends and what other kind of content they will be creating for these pages!
